To begin this review of the Huawei Honor 4X with, first we’d like to enlighten our users about a fact which we came across just a matter of days ago. Honor is a separate smartphone producing brand. It is owned by Huawei but has started to feature without the Huawei branding. It can be called a sub-company and has done extremely well in establishing Huawei’s name in the smartphone world, in a way sacrificing its own as most people do not consider Honor to be an entity due to Huawei’s ownership rights.
Some of Honor’s notable productions in recent years include Honor Y6, Honor 7 etc. among many others. It is nothing short of a spine to Huawei’s smartphone expansion and has performed extremely well as a leader. The Honor 4X is one of its most prestigious mentions in the budget smartphone category and for us personally, it is one great option to get your hands on specs wise. Its design, not so much.
I’ll be honest about one thing. The phone is a symbol of value. While skimming through the array of features coming right below, you’d be pulling your hair out as to how Huawei managed to pull the Honor 4X off in this sort of price range. Starting off with its 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. We’d like to voice our discontent with its 267 ppi pixel density but other than that, you surely can’t get more than this in this price.
The processor clocks in at 1.2 Ghz quad-core Cortex-A53 with a supportive 2GB of RAM. The A53 has improved performance over the previously used A7 processor in some of the other devices in this price bracket and the 2GB RAM keeps it on its toes all the time as well.
The cameras have never complained and with a sensor the size of 13 megapixels, it has produced some agonizingly good imagery. The front camera might concern some as to how do 5 megapixels go with a 5.5 inch display but much to our amazement, it does pretty well summing up an all rounder performance from the Honor 4X. A smartphone with specifications highly unlikely to be found in this sort of price range qualifying for a strong recommendation from us.
