Huawei just unveiled the latest edition to their Honor lineup: the Honor View 10. The Honor View 10 is the ideal example of a fine balance between flagship grade specs and affordable pricing. With its hardware playing hide and seek with that of the Mate 10, the Honor View 10 is priced at a not too expensive figure of Rs. 40,000.
The Honor View 10 is a sleek and beautiful smartphone with its front and back being made of glass and aluminum frame on the sides. This choice of build materials is the peak essence of a premium build quality come 2018. The front of the phone is almost fully occupied by the bezel-less screen, which is needless to say at this point of 2018. Standard sensors and a front facing camera alongside the earpiece occupy its upper, slender bezel.
The back of the phone is where the aesthetics of the glass-back shine – literally. On the top left corner, we find the dual camera setup and an LED flash. Towards the middle is the elegantly styled Honor logo. The phone is of unibody type, which means the battery is not removable and the smartphone is constructed out of a single homogenous frame.
Just like the Mate 10 pro, the Honor View 10 has a 6.0 inches FHD+ LCD display. FHD+ means 2160*1080 so the pixel density amounts to an excellent 402ppi. The aspect of the ratio of the screen is 18:9 as the standard has become. Being an LCD display, the View 10 produces colors a bit more coldly and accurately than the oversaturated and punchy colors of AMOLED displays.
The Honor View 10 has, like all other smartphones, a front and back setup. On the front we have a 13MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0 so you can capture detailed selfies for your social media fans. It also has video recording which maxes out at 1080p resolution. Nothing less expected from a flagship’s front camera.
The main setup on the back comprises of 2 cameras. One is a 16MP sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 whilst the other is a 20MP black and white sensor. The camera modules are accompanied by an LED flash for your night photography sessions. The video recorder lets you record video up to 4k resolution at 30 frames per second; blimey!
The greatest part of the Honor View 10 is that it packs all the big guns other manufacturers put in their flagships and still manages to be half their price. Insane if you ask us! To start off, the Honor View 10 is powered by the same AI integrated processor that runs in the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro that is the Kirin 970 SoC. It comes in multiple configurations, starting from 64GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. And if you ever feel like it’s not enough, you can expand via an external SD card.
The battery on the Honor View 10 is also very promising with a capacity of 3750mAh. It also supports fast charging. The smartphone is going to be ahead of the midrange competition by launching with Android 8.0 Oreo right out of the box.
